Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it across all tools on DebuggerMe Tools.
Last updated: April 19, 2025
1Who We Are
DebuggerMe Tools (tools.debuggerme.com) is a free online platform offering a broad range of utilities — including text formatters, rich text editors, developer tools (JSON/XML parsers), word counters, social media tools (video downloaders), and more. All tools are provided by DebuggerMe. If you have any privacy-related questions, contact us at info@debuggerme.com.
2Information We Collect
Information You Do Not Need to Provide
We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use our tools. No name, email, or payment information is collected during normal use.
Client-Side Tool Content
Tools such as the JSON Formatter, XML Formatter, Word Counter, Online Notepad, Text Editor, and similar utilities process all content entirely within your browser. The text or data you enter never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Server-Side Tool Requests
Certain tools — such as video downloaders (e.g., LinkedIn Video Downloader) — require server-side processing. In these cases, we receive the URL you submit in order to fulfil the request. We do not log, store, or analyse the URLs or content after the request is completed. These requests are processed transiently and discarded.
Contact Form Submissions
When you contact us through the Contact Us page or by email, we collect the information you voluntarily provide (name, email, message) solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
3Analytics & Cookies
Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics — such as which pages are visited and which tools are used most frequently. This helps us prioritise improvements. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect IP addresses as part of this process; this data is aggregated and anonymised. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies & Local Storage
We may use browser local storage to persist non-sensitive preferences (such as theme settings) between sessions. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Certain tools use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent abuse. Turnstile may collect browser signals in a privacy-preserving manner. No personal information is shared with Cloudflare beyond what is necessary for bot detection.
4Third-Party Services
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymous aggregated usage data with analytics providers as described above. We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics
- Cloudflare: Security, hosting infrastructure, and bot protection (Turnstile)
- Sonner (toast library): In-browser notifications (no data is transmitted)
5Data Retention
Since we collect minimal personal data, retention is minimal. Server-side request data (e.g., URLs passed to video downloader tools) are not persisted after the response is delivered. Contact form data is retained only as long as is necessary to resolve your inquiry. Anonymous analytics data is governed by Google Analytics' own retention policies.
6Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR in the EU and CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we collect very little personal data, most requests can be resolved quickly. To make a request, contact us at info@debuggerme.com.
7Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page regularly. Continued use of DebuggerMe Tools after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
